The Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said, “We cannot expect service members to lay their lives on the line when back home their families have to rely on food stamps to make ends meet.” (The pay for an E-4 Corporal is around $2200 a month.)
613,000 active duty junior enlisted men and women
172,000 junior enlisted are married (E-1 to E-4)
120,000 are considered low income
70,000 rely on food stamps to feed their families

There are many Veterans right here in Gainesville struggling for survival that desperately need work. We at Veterans Moving Help LLC propose that the cleanup of tent city be awarded to Gainesville’s Veterans. We need the work so badly we promise to underbid any reasonable bids. The city of Gainesville will surely benefit from putting Veterans to work!
